What is a Sociomap?
Sociomaps are a new way of visualizing complex relationships by presenting team information in an intuitive and visually engaging format. Basic principles of Sociomap reading
- Each team member is represented by a point on the Sociomap.
- The distance between the points represents the relative social distances between each of the team members for a selected characteristic; e.g. communication.
- The closer two people are on the Sociomap, the closer they are in relation to a measured characteristic such as frequency of communication.
- The height of the points on the Sociomap is used to display another characteristic such as the effectiveness of communication.
- A colour scale is used to make analysis simple; e.g. blue is low, red is high.
